Upgrading to a Threaded P365 Barrel: A Look at the Practicality - eWriterForYou - Best Guest Posting Site

Upgrading to a Threaded P365 Barrel: A Look at the Practicality

The Sig P365 is one of America’s most popular handguns, widely lauded for its solid ergonomics, intuitive handling and controls, reliability, and accuracy, all of which are on par with more expensive handguns.

With that said – and accepted – there are things you can do to improve performance, and substantially at that. One of those is to install a threaded P365 barrel.

If you haven’t considered this yet, allow a word of explanation.

Compensate It

When the time comes that you’ve gotten comfortable with your P365’s handling and are thinking seriously about upgrades (specifically barrel upgrades) don’t shell out the extra money for a match grade barrel with an advanced coating if it isn’t also threaded.

Here’s why. A threaded P365 barrel will give you the flexibility to install a compensator. That is, a muzzle device that alters the manner in which gasses are ported at the muzzle.

Doesn’t sound like a big deal, but it is. When you shoot an uncompensated (or unported) barrel, all the force of recoil goes right back through the gun (minus what is absorbed by the gun’s mass) and into you.

Compensating your P365 can have a serious adverse effect on felt recoil, as much as 50%, without impacting shot power at all. That can be a real godsend when shooting heavier or hotter defensive loads or +P rounds.

The long and short of it is that compensated pistols handle better and generate less felt recoil, enabling you to shoot longer with less fatigue, and more importantly, taming muzzle flip so you can keep your sights trained on target to make faster, more accurate follow-up shots.

So now let’s take a closer look at a specific threaded P365 barrel – namely, the Match V2 barrels available at NineX19.

Taking a Closer Look at a Specific, Threaded P365 Barrel

If you don’t know about NineX19 yet and have a Glock or a Sig, bookmark the page. It’s the first and possibly the last source you’ll need for upgrades.

Their Match V2 barrels for Sig P365 handguns, specifically the threaded barrels, represent incredible value and performance.

First and foremost, they make it possible for you to install a compensator; or a suppressor, if you can get one (threads are ½ x 28 and these P365 barrels come with thread protectors, too).

But beyond that, they are CNC machined from stress-relieved, heat-treated 416R stainless steel, and available in three different finishes. Among these are black nitride and TiN, or titanium nitride, both of which offer superior permanent dry lubricity, as well as wear and corrosion-resistance.

They also sport broach cut rifling, which is popular for its cost-efficiency and performance. This process is similar to button rifling, but broach rifling is superior because it produces deep-cut rifling that stabilizes and therefore accurizes all sorts of bullets. Button rifling is a hastier process. On top of that, these barrels sport deep-cut target crowns that ensure the highest possible match-grade accuracy.

Precision machining and rigorous quality control yield P365 barrels that perform well under adverse conditions while offering excellent overall performance with a wide range of bullet types and weights, from light range ammo to heavier defensive loads.

That about sums it up – but if you’re interested in learning more before you pull the trigger (excuse the pun) on a new P365 barrel, visit their website for more details; and, either way, make your next barrel a threaded model.
