Time to Upgrade to a WOOX Stock? Here’s How You’ll Know

Whether you shoot a Ruger 10/22 or a Remington 700, the stock that’s married to your action can have a big impact on performance, just like a free-floated barrel or the type of ammo you shoot.

If you don’t like your current stock, but love the action, then one of the better upgrades you can make (albeit pricey) is to a WOOX stock.

Also called a WOOX chassis  because it’s more of a system than just a piece, a WOOX stock will completely overhaul handling, performance, and accessorization.

Here are some ways you’ll know it’s time to make a change to your current stock.

Accuracy Is Inconsistent and You Suspect the Stock

With changes in atmospheric humidity and temperature, wooden stocks can warp and shift. This puts torque on the barrel and can change your point of aim. As a result, accuracy suffers.

Now, granted, there are countless factors that can challenge accuracy, but a wooden stock is a big one. WOOX stock are made with high-grade aluminum that does not warp or swell, meaning you get perfect accuracy once you’re sighted in.

And for what it’s worth, they’re still made with some wood furniture so you get the unerring performance of aluminum and the aesthetics of wood.

Your Current Stock Doesn’t Fit You

Many factory stocks are not modular. Granted, there are some that are better than others, but as a general rule, the wooden stocks of the world don’t account for any adjustability.

WOOX stock like the Furiosa offer granular adjustments to comb height and length of pull, so you can get the fit of a custom rifle stock built to your dimensions at a fraction of the cost.

There’s Nowhere to Attach Anything

One of the big issues with most rifle stocks – wooden and synthetic – is that there are no attachment points for anything beyond the swivels intended for a sling mount. Sometimes even these are sorely missing.

Many WOOX stocks are outfitted with a variety of slots for attaching shooting accessories, making them much more modular and customizable.

You’re Tired of Oiling and Waxing

Wooden stock care can be a chore, and while there is wooden furniture on most WOOX stocks, they’re effectively maintenance-free. Wax and polish the wood parts if you like, it won’t make or break the stock. They’re high-tech hybrid stocks that effectively need no maintenance.

You Want to Make an Upgrade but Don’t Feel Like Visiting the Gunsmith

WOOX stocks are designed for easy compatibility with select rifle actions and most installations can be made at home with basic tools. No trip to a gunsmith is needed.

You Just Don’t Like the Stock

Lastly, if you just don’t like the stock you’re currently working with, that’s also reason enough to look into an upgrade – and as WOOX chassis is a good one.
